FALL CLASSIC FINISH
Fort Morgan, Colorado, October 5, 2008 – I-76 Speedway finished the summer season of racing with a huge two-day grand finale race event. The Late Models, Modifieds, Sports-Mods, Street Stocks, Econos, Mini-Stocks and Dwarfs, brought a record 165 cars into one extreme weekend. Saturday night racing was to set up positions for Sunday's dynamite show. The Modified class was the highlight of the show, as they brought in 65 of the best drivers. In the end, Fort Morgan's own Jeremy Frenier who started on the pole, bested the best and took his huge win by leading the entire 30-lap feature. The Late Models had a Saturday night only feature, with Jim Beaman of Littleton, winning their Main Event with a stretched out lead, and a strong finish. Sports-Mod driver Nick Engen of Erie, was also set up on the pole and walked away from the field to finish first. The top driver in each class seemed to be in place for the Sunday finale, as Street Stock's pole sitter, Lee Kemmitt of Thornton, also took control of their Main Event and finished first for a big win. Econo class Todd Brotemarkle of LaSalle, went from pole to lead the first half of the Main Event, but was unable to finish after a yellow flag mishap. Chris Cox of Littleton, went on to collect the win. Allen Hacking of Vernal, Utah, won over a full field of Dwarf Cars, and Kevin Hiner of Greeley, was first in the Mini-Stocks.
